We Still Exist!!
FINALLY!!! We are all situated in to our new space. We have gone from a full size yarn shop to a quaint yarn boutique. It has taken every bit of 6 months to plan and execute the change. The physical space at The Yarn Studio is smaller but full enough to inspire. The set up is user friendly and we are available to answer questions.
The online portion is up and running. Many people have asked if they can touch and feel the yarns specific to the online store. The answer is YES!! The doors to the online area are open almost every day for people to browse. The structure of this area is more of a warehouse style and fully accessible. I think this is setup that is more manageable while maintaining the growth of The Farmer's Wife Gift Shoppe.
We still get boxes of gorgeous yarn however I am much more particular about the brands. We recently unpacked boxes of Malibrigo, Blue Sky, and Quince. We still have a few copies of the current Making but have sold out of Laine's latest issue.
Speaking of Laine's latest issue...We just got in 8 gorgeous colors of Puffin by Quince and Co just incase you are eager to cast on "Grace" by Denise Bayron. We are restricted from listing any Quince products in our online shop but...we do ship phone orders.
Coming to the shop this Saturday ( June 15, 2019) is...Beth Gormong. She will be signing copies of her new book from 1 to 4 PM. Beth is a fellow knitter that is multi-talented!! I am very impressed by this devotional guide and admire her abilities.
I have listed 3 new learning opportunities on the website. They are set up as Workshops. We have scheduled one per month for June, July, and August. I have many knitters who will drive in for a workshop but want to get their money's worth in time. You asked and we delivered. Each session begins at 10:30 and ends at 2:30. We built in an hour break for lunch. My goal is for you to NOT feel rushed and be fully comfortable applying what you learned.
Upcoming is a Quince and Co Summer Linen trunk show set to start on June 24 and run through July 8. We will be offering a trunk show bonus during the event. Purchase the yarn to make an item in the trunk show and the pattern is on us. You will also receive 10% off of your in-stock yarn purchase. A good quality linen is one of my very favorite yarns. Quince and Claudia Hand-paints hold up very well and only get better with time. Plan to stop in a see these pieces!!
We have traditionally participated in the July yarn crawl that was started by Martha at River Wools. The set up of the crawl has changed and we will not be participating this year. This year's crawl has a concentrated focused on the southern Indiana shops. However, I want to extend an invitation for you to stop in if time permits and check out our new space.
And last but not least...GREAT NEWS, we are now OPEN 7 days a week. Monday - Saturday 11 to 4 and Sunday is 12 to 4!!
